The New Covenant Christian School Board sets the vision and provides fiscal governance of the school. We are concerned with establishing and protecting the mission of the school and ensuring it is upheld. We set the high-level policies for the school. We look at where we want to go as a school and we plan how to get there. We have a fiduciary responsibility to make sure that the school is financially sound. However, we are not responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, nor do we perform the duties of or give direction to the staff of the school. We enable the Headmaster to carry out the vision and policies that we set and ensure that the school is managed well.
We Board members first and foremost love God with all our hearts and seek to glorify Him in all we do. Secondly, we are excited to see how God is working at NCCS and work to continually grow the school to glorify Him more. We are folks who have a vested interest in and commitment to the school and to the Classical Christian model of education.
How to Become a Board Member
Becoming a New Covenant Christians School Board Member is a multistep process. Board membership is different than simply serving on a volunteer committee. As described above, we are ultimately responsible for the vision, performance, and finances of the school. While not wanting to appear exclusive, we do need to be prudent in ensuring that an applicant is a good fit for the board and board service is a good fit for the applicant. Due to the nature of the position, we ask for a 3-year commitment. Board meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday. Board members will also likely serve on a subcommittee which may meet more sporadically.
The process begins by reading the letter at the hyperlink below and then completing and mailing the NCCS Board Membership Application form, below. Once these steps are completed, one of the current board members will be in touch to continue to the next step, which is typically an interview.
