What on earth can I say about the amazing weekend of entertainment produced by NCCS students? Our Drama class (led by Mrs. Cat Cappelletti) starred in Little Women. The class was large so, in order to be sure everyone got a part, they wrote a play within a play. Rhetoric and logic students alike displayed their creative writing ability. Students researched to find period costumes and then helped sew them (directed by Mrs. Cockerham). We used the stage from LCGS with backdrops and additional parts built by the students (led by Mr. Kord and Mrs. Kavanagh). The chorus provided a musical interlude while parents served a delicious Italian dinner. What an amazing team came together to bless three different audiences!
If that wasn’t enough of a blessing, Mrs. Grden (Art teacher) had help from several parents who framed, mounted and displayed work from all students (Grammar and Upper School) in the gym. We were treated to cartouches and saw mummies, fish, self-portraits, 3-D design… what talent!
